We are looking for a Volunteer Animal Welfare Worker to join the team at our Lincoln Farm Centre in Blandford, Dorset. The duties are the daily care of the rescue dogs, including; cleaning of kennels and other areas; making feeds and food activity toys; exercising, bathing, basic training and spending time with the rescue dogs.

Applicants must be enthusiastic about animal welfare, reliable, trustworthy and patient, happy to work in all weathers and not mind getting dirty.

We are looking for a volunteer who can regularly commit to attending a minimum of one half day or one full day per week. Hours would range between 8am-4pm.

As a Tin Collector, you will become a valued member of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will support Margaret Green Animal Rescue in the following way:

  • Managing and maintaining the database of businesses in the Bridport area who fundraise for the charity by having a collection tin on their premises
  • Leaflet and poster distribution around the area
  • Attend events on behalf of MGAR, if there are any in the area
  • Sourcing raffle prizes within the local area

This is a great role for those wanting a varied and versatile role to support the work that we do with the rescue animals in our care. All tasks will be set by our Community and Events Fundraiser who you will be working with closely. Upon 1 month of undertaking this role, you will be given a t-shirt to wear whilst out within the community to help raise awareness of our work.

We are recruiting 1-2 volunteers for this role on an ad-hoc basis.

Minimum volunteer age is 18 years & must have a full, clean driving licence.

As an Event Volunteer, you will become a valued member of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will support Margaret Green Animal Rescue in the following way:

  • Assist the Fundraising team with various tasks on the busy run up to our events
  • Leaflet and poster distribution, one month prior to events
  • Attendance and support on event days
  • Attend events on behalf of MGAR

This role is great for those who are wanting a varied volunteering role and perfect for those wanting to gain experience within events management. All tasks will be set by the Fundraising team, who you will be working with closely.  

We are recruiting 10 volunteers for this role on an ad-hoc basis.

As a Volunteer Prize Collector within the Dorset Area, you will become a valued member of the Fundraising and Marketing team and aid the work that we do at Margaret Green Animal Rescue in the following way:

  • To come into the Fundraising and Marketing Office to send prize requests to an array of local and national businesses
  • To arrange collection or delivery of prizes
  • If possible, collect and drop off prizes to Head Office before events

  • Distribution of event and appeal marketing materials, to ensure footfall at our events and maximise donations for our appeals
  • Develop working relationships with businesses in the local area

As an Office Volunteer, you will become a valued member of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will support Margaret Green Animal Rescue in the following way:

  • Assisting with Marketing tasks by taking photos for social media
  • Aiding the team with general organisational duties
  • Rotating the posters around our Rehoming and Visitor Centre at Church Knowle
  • Printing & laminating
  • Administrative duties
  • Post Office runs (when needed)
  • Ensuring that the Garden of Remembrance is presentable

This is a very fun and varied role, perfect for those wanting to gain experience within the Fundraising and Marketing realm. Specific tasks will be explained by the Fundraising and Marketing team.

We are recruiting 1-2 volunteers for this role, 4-hours every other week.

Minimum volunteer age is 18 years.

We are looking for a volunteer to help with simple DIY tasks and odd jobs at our Wingletang Rescue and Rehoming Centre for Dogs and Cats near Tavistock, in Devon. 

 

The role would involve simple DIY tasks, such as:

 

  • Mending broken fencing

  • Fixing kennel catches

  • Dealing with dripping taps

  • Other varied tasks

Days and times are flexible.
