We are proud to be celebrating our 60th Anniversary this year and will be reflecting on the incredible work that we, along with our amazing volunteers and supporters, have achieved over the past six decades.
A great deal has changed since then, and we will be sharing how the charity has developed from its humble beginnings in 1965 to how it operates today across three centres in Dorset & Devon.
We couldn't honour this amazing milestone without paying tribute to our remarkable founder, Margaret Green, who dedicated her life to helping so many rescue animals in need.
It is a privilege to be continuing her Legacy to this day, and we can't thank you enough for making this possible.

Get involved
Celebrate 60 years of rescue with your own 60 Years Challenge!
To mark our incredible milestone, we’re inviting you, our amazing supporters, to get involved in a fun and meaningful way.
We’re asking individuals, families and workplaces to take on their own fundraising challenges that are inspired by the number '60'.
What you do is entirely up to you – we'd just love for you to make it ‘60’ themed and help us raise funds for our rescue animals in need, and keep us going for another 60 years!
Need inspiration?
Here are some of our suggestions for what you could do, but we really want you to come up with ideas that are creative and achievable for you.
Walk 60 miles over a month
Bake and sell 60 cupcakes
Swim 60 lengths
Complete 60 acts of kindness
Host a 60's-themed party – perfect for anyone celebrating their own 60th this year!
How to take part?
1. Choose your challenge – get creative with the number '60'
2. Set up a fundraiser or collect donations your own way
3. Share your journey on social media
4. Tag us and use #60YearsChallenge so we can celebrate your efforts and share them with our community

Country Dog Show (Dorset) - Sunday 10th August
Walkies for Rescue (Devon) - Sunday 7th September
Rescue Relay (Dorset) - Saturday 27th September
Rescue Relay is a brand-new event that we are hosting to celebrate our anniversary!
We will be doing 60 laps of a 1 mile route around our Church Knowle centre in 1 day, and we'd love for you to take part.
Whether you fancy cheering on Team MGAR or completing the challenge with your friends & family, don't miss out on the opportunity to join us for this fantastic, feel-good event.
