Meet Sparky – your new best friend! This stunning 4-year-old ex-racing greyhound is ready to leave his track days behind and start a new chapter as someone’s beloved companion. With his sleek frame, soulful eyes, and that classic sighthound lean, Sparky is affectionate, charming, and quietly confident – a truly special boy.
Sparky has recently found himself a foster home, meaning he can learn the joys of a home environment before landing his forever family. This gentle giant’s foster carer has been able to tell us that his toilet training has been a dream as so far, no accidents! He sleeps through the night on their bedroom floor, and he has been so settled stretched out on his soft bed during the day. This opportunity has also meant he has been able to slowly acclimatise to going out on regular walks and seeing more of the world, Sparky has been taking this all in his stride and has been gaining confidence with day-to-day living.
Sparky is a friendly and confident lad who adores people and isn’t shy about showing affection. He has a particular fondness for soft squeaky toys and can often be found tossing them around with great enthusiasm. He’s also very food-motivated, which makes training and building a bond with him even easier. Like many greyhounds, Sparky has never lived in a home before, so he’ll need some gentle guidance as he learns about indoor life – things like stairs, mirrors, and comfy sofas will be new to him, but we’re sure he’ll adjust quickly and come to love the comforts of home.
Sparky would be happiest living with another dog who will be happy to help show him the ropes. He’s not suitable to live with cats or small furries due to his prey drive. He would also be fine with children aged 10 and up, as long as they are kind and respectful around dogs.
