Charlie

Name: Charlie
Breed: Beagle X Harrier
Age: 1
Location: Dorset
Gender: Male
MGAR Reference: 55980
Charlie is a 1 year and 8-month-old male Beagle mix with a classic hound personality.
He is affectionate indoors and forms strong attachments to his people quickly, enjoying close companionship and reassurance. Outdoors, his nose takes the lead, and he becomes curious and independent, happiest when following scents and exploring. Charlie loves playing with other dogs and truly thrives in their company. He makes a great hiking companion, and we feel he would excel at scent work and activities that let him use his natural instincts once someone has given him the time and patience to focus these skills.
Charlie is still learning how to settle indoors and can struggle with calm downtime, but he gains confidence and relaxes much more easily when another dog is present, so he must live in a home with another well established and social dog. Charlie cannot live with cats or small furries, but could do well in a home with older, dog-savvy children.
He will also need a patient home that can gradually and thoughtfully introduce him to being left alone as he continues to build confidence. With regular exercise, mental enrichment, and a dog-savvy home that understands hounds, Charlie has so much potential to grow into a wonderful lifelong companion.
