Introducing Maisie who is approximately 18 months old. Maisie was found straying heavily pregnant and soon gave birth to her kittens. Her kittens no longer need her so it is now time for her to put her paws to rest and enjoy all the attention for herself.
Maisie has taken time settling into the cattery and still likes the comfort of her bed, for security, especially her new plastic cat house which gives her more room. Maisie will need owners who would really like to make a difference to a nervous cat like Maisie and see her blossom with time and patience.
Maisie loves her food, which has helped Maisie get more comfortable with her carers, especially when they have tasty dreamies in hand, she will soon approach you for some and has even started becoming a bit of a diva when it comes to not being quick enough with them for her.
It has been lovely getting to see how much progress she has made since arriving at the centre, from being that very shy and sensitive girl. Maisie still has more work to do before she feels content being in your presence. Maisie will need owners who are happy for her to come to them when she is ready, but also realise that Maisie may not be a lap cat. Maisie still gets very worried with formal handling so this area will still need work on and her owners will need to be happy to accept that she doesn't like being picked up as she finds it overwhelming and wants to get away.
Maisie will be looking for a quiet home, possibly with teenagers and adults, but she would be happiest being the only pet in the home so that she can focus on making friends with her new family. A home away from roads would be the best fit for her due to her nervous nature.
We know Maisie may take that bit longer to find a home, but we know there is a home willing to put in the work and see her flourish in her new environment.
