We are on the lookout for a calm and patient home for our lovely lad Rolo, who is an affectionate and cute 4 year old sausage dog, ideally with a family who will be invested in his ongoing training needs.

Rolo’s absolute favourite thing in the world is being close to his humans. He loves nothing more than snuggling up on your lap for cuddles and tummy tickles — the more, the better! He could happily spend all day soaking up your attention and giving plenty of kisses in return.

Alongside sharing these sweet moments at home, it is going to be important for Rolo’s new family to be able to advocate for him when he becomes overwhelmed. This lively lad really struggles when he is out and about and can become quite anxious around other dogs, particularly when approached head-on, this often results in him becoming vocal. Since arriving at our centre, the team have been working closely with Rolo to build his confidence and help him feel more at ease outdoors. His new family will receive plenty of guidance and support from our team to help Rolo to continue with this progress.

To help manage his reactivity, Rolo wears a muzzle on walks, and this is something he accepts happily. He considers it his “uniform” and hopes his stylish accessory won’t deter his future family from seeing the wonderful dog he truly is.

Rolo is looking for a family who will be patient, understanding, and be continually committed to helping him become the best version of himself in the long term. Being able to provide some fun, enriching activities to keep him mentally stimulated when he needs his decompression days would also be an added bonus.

He especially enjoys peaceful forest walks where he can indulge all of his senses with lots of exciting sniffs. Rolo can experience some travel sickness, but our team are hopeful this will improve with short, positive car journeys over time.

Rolo could live with children aged 12 and over, but he is looking to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the attention for himself.
