Would Ewe believe it!

Introducing Luna and Primrose (aka Lamb 1 and Lamb 2).  Following the Margaret Green Animal  (MGAR) competition through Easter to rename the lambs – Church Knowle had visitors flocking to give great name ideas, after watching the two delightful little lambs skipping around in the sunshine.

Lamb 1, now goes baaaaa the name of Luna, which is a Latin baby name. In Mythology Luna is one of the names of Artemis the moon goddess.  Luna was a really popular name and Emma Pearce who was lucky enough to be chosen explained, ‘Luna means moon, and when I saw the colour of the lamb it reminded me of this, and my first reaction was to name her after the moon.

Lamb 2 is leaping with joy at her new name, Primrose, which was suggested by Linda Skuse;  it brought back childhood memories of when she visited her grandmother in Bicknoller, Somerset.  Linda said ‘there was a long country lane with field either side, covered in Primrose and Sheep.  It was my first thought when I saw the lambs, and primrose is still my favourite flower’.

Kate Wickins, Centre Manager at Church Knowle said, ‘we wanted our visitors to name the lambs, and love the ones that were chosen, especially the great stories behind them.  The lambs have been really popular, they are so friendly and love meeting new people, I’d like to thank everyone who took part.’
