Finding Forever Homes

We are appealing for a home for a very special six year old Rottweiler called Willow.

Staff at Lincoln Farm assessed Willow upon her arrival and found that she urgently needed a life-changing operation to repair the cruciate ligament in her back leg. Without the operation Willow would have been in huge amounts of pain and this would have caused severe lameness.

Thankfully Willow is recovering well but her operation alone has cost £800. Extra veterinary costs such as this put a huge strain on our resources especially as the number of abandoned and stray animals continues to increase.

Helen Chittock, manager at Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s Lincoln Farm centre for rescued dogs said: “In addition to her surgery, Willow suffers from ataxia which is a neurological condition that causes her to be a little uncoordinated when she moves, resulting in a wobbly gait.

Her condition causes her few problems and we would love to find her a foster home whilst she recovers from her operation, or better still a permanent loving home.

Willow is a very friendly, gentle dog who only requires short walks.  She is house trained and happy to be left for short periods.  Willow is able to live with children aged 5+ and is also very sociable with other animals”.
