Finding Forever Homes

The Rehoming Process

The rehoming process varies depending on the type of animal you are interested in. When you click on an animal on our website, you will find more detailed information about the kind of home they are looking for. We have outlined the general process below:

  • All the animals available for rehoming are regularly updated on this website.
  • Visit one of our centres (more information can be found here).  You might need to visit a few times to find your perfect match.  We have a rehoming board with pictures and information on all the animals available for rehoming and staff will be on-hand to discuss each animal with you.
  • Once you found a pet that you are interested in, you will be invited to spend time with the animal.  If it is a dog you are looking to rehome, you can take the dog for a walk around our on-site exercise field and play with them in our rehabilitation room.
  • Next you will be asked to fill out a reservation form. Within the form you will be asked for more information regarding your home situation, including lifestyle, to ensure that you are well-matched to each other.  We require a letter from your landlord should you live in rented accommodation.
  • Once you have found your perfect match we may ask to meet the whole family and possibly arrange a home visit. We may also ask to meet any other pets in the home.
  • We may then ask you to come and visit your chosen pet a few times before they go home with you.
  • An appointment will then be made for you to come and collect your new member of the family.
