Home Match

A New Rehoming Pathway

We understand that giving up an animal can be a very challenging and upsetting time, and we're here to help you throughout the process.

Our Home Match scheme enables us to find a new home for your dog, while they remain at home in your care, avoiding the need for them to enter a rehoming environment or face too many changes to their routine.

The Purpose

We recognise just how difficult it can be for you to make the decision to rehome your animal, which is the driving force behind this new rehoming pathway.

When circumstances allow, we can support you and keep your dog in the home with you, while we begin the matching process to find them their new home.

They will be surrounded by their familiar home comforts and, once the matching process is complete, they will be able to move straight into their new home - providing a much smoother transition for them.

How Does it Work?

If you contact us to discuss bringing your dog into rescue, our Dorset team will ask you some questions about their health, history and behaviour.

If the Home Match scheme is a suitable option for you, we will gather further information and run through the scheme in greater detail, making sure it's the right rehoming journey for you and your dog.

Following a successful visit to the centre, where we will meet your dog and carry out the relevant assessments, you will be asked to sign an agreement to officially join our Home Match scheme.

We will then be able to start the rehoming process and will keep in regular contact to support you along the way.

What Next?

Upon signing up to this scheme, you are trusting our experienced team to find the best possible home for your dog.

We may need you to bring them back to the centre at pre-arranged times for veterinary or training needs, and for us to introduce them to potential rehomers when a match has been found.

We can help cover the costs of vaccinations, flea & worming treatment and other medical care that our vets advise and carry out.

You will remain legally responsible for your dog until we have secured a suitable match. At this point, they will be signed over into our care in readiness for their new home, enabling privacy for you and their new owners.

Meet Teddy - Our Home Match Hero!

Teddy is a 9-year-old Cockapoo who was one of our first dogs to be rehomed through our Home Match scheme.

After being a much-loved family companion for many years, Teddy was in search of a new home due to a change in his previous owners’ circumstances.

It wasn’t long before he was united with his forever family, and he’s now thriving in his new environment.

Get In Touch

If you are facing the tough decision to relinquish your dog, please contact with our Lincoln Farm centre in Dorset for advice.

Our Home Match scheme is free to join, but we would be very grateful for any donations to help us cover the costs of helping your animal companion.

It's possible that this scheme may not be the best fit for your dog. In this case, our team will discuss our other rehoming pathways with you, which will ensure their training and behavioural needs are met in another way.
