Painting The Town Green

We are encouraging everyone to go Green for charity between the 15th and 20th May

It is the annual Margaret Green Week, commemorating the birthday of the very special lady who started the charity all the way back in 1965.

The week is about finding fun and simple ways to raise money for the animals our charity is helping and rehoming.  MGAR rescue and rehome over 1300 animals a year at their 3 centres, and with no Government funding, donations and fundraising from supporters is vital to the charity.

Getting involved is easy…  arrange a FUNd-raising event among colleagues, friends or  even a school class.  It could be as simple as wearing something green for the day, being adventurous and wearing an animal onesie, or organising a cake sale, raffle or quiz. While the donations are being raised, we are encouraging everyone to take photos, have fun and post their pics on social media with the hashtag #AllTogetherForAnimals

To commemorate Margaret Green’s birthday on the 20th May there will be a special event held at Lincoln Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre, (near Bere Regis) at Winterborne Kingston from 11:00 until 16:00, a real celebration of rehoming and the joy of having a pet in your family.

Everyone is welcome at GroundDog Day, four legged and two!

Jazmin House, Community Fundraising Assistant said “We had a great response last year, it was amazing to see local schools and businesses raising money for our rescue animals. Fundraising ideas ranged from abseiling off of Portland to wearing an animal onesie for a day! We can’t wait to hear supporters’ ideas for this year”

Jazmin went on to say “We are also looking forward to seeing friends old and new at GroundDog Day, everyone is welcome, we have some fun dog show classes, so bring your dog along and join in the fun”
