16th September 2019
We were so pleased to see the amount of support towards the Tri-4-Rescue at the Wingletang Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Tavistock, Devon.
The sun was shining down on us as we welcomed participants to the centre, greeting many of the dogs we have rehomed who were joining us with their new families, which is such a lovely sight to see!
Another highlight included us being able to take out the majority of the rescue dogs who are currently awaiting their Forever Home. They were so happy to join us for the walk, thank you so much to those who were able to help with this.
After the group picture the walkers set off with the dogs who were eager to get going and many of them making new friends on route. The walk took them past the Mary Tavy down to a beautiful stream where both owners and dogs enjoyed a cool down before setting off again to get to the pub (which a few were very much looking forward to).
This then led on to the 3 mile run across the Moor, runners enjoyed the stunning scenery and endured quite a hill on route!
The runners then joined the cyclists who were at the ready to pedal. Without haste, off they went to tackle the route. All finishing in fantastic time and they had big smiles on their faces.
It has been a record year for the running and cycling sections of the Tri-4-Rescue and so far participants have raised £1,300 but there is still more to come in.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteers, long term supporters, new faces and to whoever organised the weather!
Further thanks to the Peter Tavy Inn for their continued support, Rent-a-Ford Tavistock and to Dave and Louisa Chanter for organising the run.
