Kennels Give Rescue Dogs a Second Chance

Towards the end of last year, we appealed to you to help give rescue dogs a second chance at life by making a donation towards the kennels at our Wingletang Centre.
We are delighted to announce that the kennels are now complete and are already making a huge difference to the lives of rescue dogs in our care. The kennels and cattery on site are some of our oldest owned buildings, with the lower kennels dating back to when Margaret Green opened the Wingletang Centre over 25 years ago!
The site is extremely open to the elements and we have seen some of the worst snow and rain known in the Devon area. The improvements to the lower kennels will mean that they will now be better equipped to maintain warmth, which is vital for any animal and will mean they are much more cost effective to heat. With it being so important to keep the rescue dogs as calm as possible whilst they are in our care, the soundproofing installed will mean we are able to create a calmer environment. This is a huge benefit especially for any nervous dogs that come into rescue.
Thank you so much for donating and giving rescue dogs the best possible start in life.
We do have ambitious plans to further develop the Devon centre, with the next project being our Cattery. We are currently appealing for donations here to help rebuild their future. The need for the cattery has been made even more apparent after finding three rescue cats on the remote part of Dartmoor.
