We were delighted to welcome record numbers of visitors at our Family Activity Day on Wednesday 9th April. The animal sanctuary and visitor centre at Church Knowle was buzzing with activity as the sun shone over the proceedings.

Young visitors were spoilt for choice, as staff and volunteers from Margaret Green organised activities all day including goat feeding, egg hunting, face painting and a bouncy castle.Bunny-open day-web-300x400px

Our resident cats loved their new toys, made for them by visitors like Ella, Caitlin, Izzy and Isla who made toys for Muffin, Whiskey and Olly on their first ever visit to the sanctuary. Sue Potts from Wimborne also commented that there was a lot to do for children of all ages and they had really enjoyed the day.

Animals of the sanctuary enjoyed meeting the visitors and some, such as Truffle our resident Sandy and Black, were spoilt rotten as their sponsors and fans brought them bags full of tasty carrots and apples!

Rosie, our gorgeous thoroughbred chestnut mare, took part in a lunging demonstration with her groom Sian. She had a busy day as she also stood while our farrier fitted her new shoes. This lovely ex-racehorse was comfortable in the company of her best friend, Angel.

Staff from our Lincoln Farm rehoming and rescue centre for dogs also supported the event and brought some of our happily rehomed dogs to meet and greet the public.
