Help dogs just like Teddy - Update
Forever Home Update - 24th May 2019
We are delighted to share this update with you from his owner Linda.
Freddie (Teddy) is settling in well and his skin has healed beautifully and although he won’t get his fur back he looks really good! He has got some coats to wear to protect his skin from the sun. Teddy is a very lovable dog, he runs around like a greyhound and would just keep running if he was allowed. He is a cheeky chap as pulls up the plants in the garden as soon as Linda has planted them and he likes to steal peoples shoes. Although, he is still very nervous of cars and lorries he does love playing with other dogs and doing zoomies but he is not very good at recall. He’s so friendly with everyone and loves nothing better than chasing seagulls and crows on the beach.
This is so good to hear and it certainly sounds like Freddie (Teddy) really has got his paws well and truly under the table. Support for Freddie (Teddy) was fantastic and his story touched the hearts of many supporters so much so that £1,210 was donated to help dogs just like him.
Update - 18th March 2019
We have been overwhelmed with well wishes for Teddy and we are so pleased to be able to share his fantastic progress with you. We thank everyone who has recently made a donation towards helping dogs like Teddy and also liking/sharing his story, we have received over £150 and reached over 24,000 people on Facebook!
Teddy spent a few days with a foster carer to help with tending to his sore wounds that were so raw. He is now back at our Lincoln Farm Centre and we are thrilled to let you know that he is feeling much better already. His wounds are starting to heal with the ongoing daily treatments of washes, cream and antibiotics.
Now that he is starting to feel a little better, his true puppy nature is starting to shine through and boy does he want to play! We have to be very careful that he doesn’t cause any irritation to his wounds but we also have to acknowledge that he is a young, lively dog that wants to have fun and socialise.
He now has a buddy to play chase with and has been enjoying some puppy play time! We are thrilled that he is still able to enjoy some enrichment and company whilst he is healing.
You can still support by making a donation, whatever you can give really will help dogs just like Teddy.

Our staff were left shocked after 9 month old Teddy the Lurcher was brought into our Lincoln Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Dorset last week as a stray. The vets' believe Teddy’s wounds are as a result of being burnt, which could either be from a fire or a chemical burn but we cannot know for sure.
He is currently on a 7 day course of antibiotics and pain relief. Furthermore he also needs to have a cream applied to all his wounds twice a day to promote healing, which he is responding to really well. Teddy is really enjoying lots of fuss and attention from his carers at Lincoln Farm, he is such an affectionate boy and loves company.
Geoff Wright, Chief Executive commented “Sadly Teddy’s condition is just one example of the issues that rescue animals coming into our care are still suffering from. Donations and support for dogs like Teddy really does go a long way to help towards their care and treatment and is always appreciated.”
It is hard to imagine the pain Teddy has been through but we are pleased that he is now in our care with trained staff in animal welfare. It is going to be a long road to recovery for this sweet boy and we aren’t sure if his fur will grow back fully or if he will be left with a scar but thankfully the prognosis is looking really good for him. He certainly is full of life and will make a fantastic addition to his Forever Home once he is ready to be rehomed.
