Spectacular Celebration for Golden Anniversary
On Friday 9th October, almost exactly 50 years to the day that the Margaret Green Foundation Trust was founded, over 50 of our supporters and volunteers enjoyed a spectacular evening to celebrate 50 years of care for local pets and animals.
Guests were welcomed with a drinks reception where they were able to view a brief history of Margaret Green Animal Rescue on display boards in the entrance hall.
At 7.30 dinner was served, and everyone enjoyed a three course meal before our Chief Executive, Geoff Wright, welcomed Cesar Sastre and David Harding from Damory Vets. For the past 10 years Damory have provided all of our veterinary care in Dorset, and before that were heavily involved in providing care for all species including cats, dogs, horses, chickens and much more. David commented on how rewarding it was to work with such a professional organisation and Cesar spoke of some of the most memorable cases from Margaret Green including Nana the Dogue de Bordeaux and, more recently, Benny the Sharpei now known as Dylan.
After the winners of the raffle were announced, it was time for the entertainment and guests were not disapointed as the fantastic Mother Ukers took to the stage. Guests took to the dancefloor to finish off the evening in style!
We would like to thank everybody that supported this event including our wonderful supporters and volunteers, Merley House in Wimborne, everyone who donated a raffle prize, Cesar and David from Damory Vets and of course the Mother Ukers who have been fundraising and raising awareness for our charity throughout the year.
