Fashion Show Success
The Weymouth Charity Shop Fashion Show took place on Sunday 28th April at the shop at 5 St Thomas Street, raising funds for our rescue animals.
Kerry (Manager) compared the event, introducing the models to the catwalk and commenting on their outfits. All the clothes modelled were from shop stock and after the event they were available for purchase.
As part of the proceedings a local muscian, Damaris Fowler, sang and played. Damaius donated her time to the event, which was particularly fitting as she has an MGAR Rescue Dog - thank you Damaris your support is much appreciated.
Many of the clothes modelled were designer labels and the models were all volunteers from the shop. One of the volunteers, Rob, mingled with the audience inbetween catwalk runs selling scarves, which was a huge hit. At the end of the show all the audience had a chance to buy all the items from the show, as well as sale clothing that Kerry and her team had hand picked for the event.
The Fashion Show was a huge success with everyone playing a part to ensure the day ran smoothly. There was a lot of behind the scenes organisation and Alison (Assistant Manager) was busy organising the dressing order of the day so that the models were able to get into their outfits without a hitch.
Thank you to everyone who came along to the show, all the volunteers who took part, supporters who donated clothes and staff who worked hard behind the scenes and at front of house to run the event.
Here's some photos summing up the day...
