Our Church Knowle Animal Rehoming and Visitor Centre is located near Wareham in Dorset and accommodates a wide range of small domestic, livestock and poultry species as well as equines.

 

We are expanding our Animal Welfare team and are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us. Working in either our Equine, Farm or Cattery sections, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to animal welfare and support us in delivering the highest standards of husbandry and customer service. 

 

The successful applicant should have a qualification in animal / equine management and experience of working with animals in a professional capacity is desirable. Similarly, experience of working in a visitor attraction is desirable. The successful candidate will be;

  • An excellent communicator
  • Highly organised with an eye for detail
  • Familiar with industry standard animal husbandry protocols
  • A team player with a flexible approach
  • Resilient with a positive outlook
  • Solution orientated
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Able to undertake a wide range of physical tasks associated with the role
  • Compassionate and empathetic

A full manual driving licence is essential. 

 

The role is 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, between 8:00am - 4.30pm, to include working weekend days on a rotational basis.

 

Salary of £18,525 per annum and pension scheme.

Our Customer and Volunteer Champion will oversee the day-to-day running of our reception and team office areas and support our volunteers, who fulfil a wide range of roles across our centre. Involvement with some aspects of animal care are required for the better execution of the role. 

 

The successful applicant will ideally have a qualification or equivalent experience in customer care and experience of working with animals. The successful candidate will be;

Our Lincoln Farm Centre in Blandford, Dorset has full-time vacancies for the position of Animal Welfare Worker. The centre rescues and rehomes dogs. The role includes delivering the highest standards of animal welfare, training and rehabilitating the rescue dogs, providing help and support to members of the public both on the phone and in-person and maintaining databases and paper records.

 

The successful applicant should have a qualification in animal care and/or experience working with dogs and good customer service and communication skills.  A full current driving licence is essential.

 

37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, between 8:00am - 4.30pm, on a locally determined rota to include weekends and bank holidays. 

 

£9.50ph

As Estates Maintenance Worker, you would be part of a team looking after 3 sites and 6 shops. The work includes general repairs, proactive and reactive maintenance, as well as fencing and grounds/buildings maintenance. This position requires someone with a good level of skills in general maintenance such as, plumbing, carpentry and basic electrics. It also requires someone with experience of general grounds maintenance such as the use of strimmers, pedestrian mowers and ride-ons.

The role is 37.5 hours per week

£9.50 - £10.50/hr dependent on experience and skills

We are looking for a volunteer to help with simple DIY tasks and odd jobs at our Wingletang Rescue and Rehoming Centre for Dogs and Cats near Tavistock, in Devon. 

 

The role would involve simple DIY tasks, such as:

  • Mending broken fencing
  • Fixing kennel catches
  • Dealing with dripping taps
  • Looking after our small pond
  • Other varied tasks

Days and times are flexible.
