Introducing our special boy Frankie, who is a 3 year old domestic short hair. On the rare occasion, we have cats who enter our care who have experienced extremely stressful circumstances in the home, and as such, find it especially difficult to cope in situations where they may feel uncomfortable.

Sadly, this has been very much the case for our sensitive soul Frankie, who when entering our care, was extremely frightened of people and it quickly became clear to us, that Frankie was terrified of just about everything. At this point, our carer's knew that they needed to manage Frankie's stress as well as they could, with the resources that they had, to reduce his stress levels and ultimately ensure he felt as safe as possible in our care.

By respecting Frankie's space, using a 'hand's off' approach and by providing him with a predictable, consistent routine, we started to see a glimmer of hope in Frankie, as he began to show subtle signs that he was feeling more relaxed in his new surroundings. In creating an environment which met Frankie's physical, behavioral and emotional needs, our carer's had started to gain Frankie's trust, and as such, sweet Frankie felt comfortable enough to initiate contact with his carer's for the first time.

Since Frankie accepted our helping hand, it has been a truly rewarding experience to see Frankie feel comfortable enough to be his true self. Frankie is in fact, a friendly and inquisitive boy, and whilst he enjoys being in the presence of his carer's, he equally enjoys his independence and has been described as a 'happy-go-lucky' type boy. He particularly likes spending time in his outside enclosure, where he can take in all the exciting sights, sounds and smells of the outdoors.

Despite this important breakthrough moment with Frankie, his previous experiences in the home indicate that underneath, he is a very sensitive poppet, so we are looking for someone who shares the same 'hands off' approach as our carer's do and who can understand his needs.

With that being said, we feel that Frankie would be at his happiest in a quiet, adult only home, with no other pets, where he can have free access to a quiet, enclosed garden. We also feel that he would be most comfortable in a more rural, village location, so he can explore the outside world once he is feel safe and settled enough to do so.

If you feel that you could be the one to give this special boy a loving home, please contact us at our Church Knowle Rehoming Centre in Wareham on 01929 480474.
